About Department
The R.D. Gardi Department was established in 1996 as per the norms prescribed by All India Council of Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.), New Delhi. The MBA programme of the Department is approved by AICTE.
The main objective of the department is to motivate bright young management aspirant with knowledge, abilities and skills to perform their roles as versatile managers through the M.B.A. - Full time programmed offered to them.
The Department offers three courses i.e., MBA, MBA (B&F), and Ph.D. (Management). MBA Programme comprises of four semesters during which the students have to undertake foundation, core, elective courses and carry out a project work during industrial training on a corporate problem. The programme is built on the foundation of activity-based learning model. The department offers dual specialization in three disciplines – Marketing, Finance, Human Resource and Information Systems. MBA (B&F) programme is specially designed for the working executives of co-operative sector as per the MOU with Gujarat Urban Co-operative Banks Federation.
The Department of Business Management, Saurashtra University is amongst the leading B-School of the region. It focuses on management education more than just business management. The department has established a Global Centre for Indian Management, as a part of Golden jubilee year celebration of the university in 2016. Six major research projects have been completed. Management students and research scholars have unique opportunity to learn about ancient India's contribution in the field of management. They can undertake research projects related to it. In a nutshell, it can be concluded that the department is leaving no stone unturned to act as truly acting as a facilitating agent in the process of creating qualitative and competent managers.
